Jesus Said “Feed My Sheep”

This picture dropped out of an old photo album while going through our storage of stuff. I forgot all about it and got a kick out of how I could relate it to this poem I came across and the pictures and scriptures below. It’s of me at a family friends ranch in the Summer of 1959.

FEED MY SHEEP

SHEPHERD, show me how to go
O’er the hillside steep,
How to gather, how to sow,
How to feed Thy sheep;
I will listen for Thy voice,
Lest my footsteps stray;
I will follow and rejoice
All the rugged way.

Thou wilt bind the stubborn will,
Wound the callous breast,
Make self-righteousness be still,
Break earth’s stupid rest.
Strangers on a barren shore,
Lab’ring long and lone,
We would enter by the door,
And Thou know’st Thine own.

So, when day grows dark and cold,
Tear or triumph harms,
Lead Thy lambkins to the fold,
Take them in Thine arms;
Feed the hungry, heal the heart.
Till the morning’s beam;
White as wool, ere they depart,
Shepherd, wash them clean.

Mary Baker Eddy

So Jesus told them this story: “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?   Luke 15:4

“He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.” Isaiah 40:11

This conversation took place at Tiberius (Lake Galilee), after Jesus had risen from the dead. Peter and other disciples were fishing. Jesus appeared, caused their nets to be filled, and invited them to add some fish to the breakfast he was cooking.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. John 10:2728

Choosing The Path of God

ALONG GODS PATH

When I walk along this path,
I shall keep my eyes on You,
For I take you for your Word,
Knowing that Your Word is True.

As I walk along this path,
You will help me understand;
You will guide me with Your Word,
When You take me by the hand.

As I walk along this path,
Thy Word unfolding gives me Light;
It shall guide me on the way,
In the Power of Your Might.

As I walk along this path,
In the Power of Your Might;
Being strengthened by Your Truth,
Bringing others to your Light.

As I walk along this path,
Helping others on the way;
Speaking Truth into their heart,
Infusing Hope into their day.

Heavenly Father, You know every decision we need to make and every challenge we face each and every day. Please forgive us for the times that we try to figure this life out on our own. We need You Father, and we need Your Holy Spirit to give us strength, wisdom, and direction, to lead us on the path of Your choosing. Thank You Father. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. 🙏

Thank you for stopping by.

🌻HAVE A BLESSED WEEK🌻

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

In my mother’s womb, You knit me with your hands,

And brought me in this world for Your purpose and Your plans;

To teach me and instruct me in the way which I should go,

And filled me with Your Word, and for this to You I owe.

Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; (Isaiah 44:24)

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (Psalms 32:8)

O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. (Psalms 92:5)

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. (Psalms 139:14)
